Helpful notes for using Chinese Patent Formulas & Tonics
The effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Patent formulas and tonics are stellar. One key to getting the best results are in using them properly. It is best and safest to follow the manufacturer's suggested dose. However your doctor may increase or decrease the dose more precisely to zero in on what is needed for you.
Fundamentally, Tonics provide us a myriad of benefits which, over time, through frequent and regular use, bring radiant health. Consider them smart insurance to head off future uncertain health problems through enhancing our energy, strenghtening our immune system, brightening our spirits, helping to make us resistant to seasonal problems such as cold & flu and allergies.
Tonics are best taken for long periods of time. Some of the superior tonics offered are the various Mushrooms, Another winner is Lycium Berries. We also have a fine choice of Single Herb extra strength extracts. A top seller is He Shou Wu. In addition, you may want to check out our selection of other effective Tonics.
Patent formulas are used for acute problems with remarkable effect. These formulas are usually taken only as long as the symptoms persist. They are also quite effective in conjunction with acupuncture treatment, massage, or chiropractic therapies. Once the body has overcome the problem, it is best to reevaluate and adjust to another formula or move on to cleansing and rejuvenating teas and tonics.
Patent Formulas are best taken 30 minutes before or after eating, with a glass of water, or warm tea. Exceptions are noted on the manufacturers suggested dose, or as directed by your doctor.
For maximum absorbtion try chewing your teapills or let them dissolve slowly if you can handle the taste, as they are best if chewed. Afterwards you can chase the aftertaste with a swish of tea, lemon or juice.
Generally, doses are reduced by half for children. Please use common sense when administering.
One last note: All herbs should be used with caution and respect. It is always best to seek the advice of competent herbalist and/or Master Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner.
