Major Bupleurum / Da Chai Hu Wan

Helps to harmonize and clear severe heat, helps stop pain and spasms, helps harmonize digestion. Hepatopprotective, aids clearance of residual pathogens, laxative, chologogue. May be used for excess heat in the gallbladder and stomach. This also is a particularly good formula for gradually improving the gall bladder and assisting in the breakdown and expulsion of small gallstones.

Applications: *
Shao yang/yang ming overlap syndrome, with Flu-like symptoms with fever & chills, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, urgent diarrhea, aversion to fats or oils, an appearance of jaundice. Chronic cholecystitis, acute pancreatitis, hepatitis, dysentery, gallstones, migraine headaches, hypertension.

Ingredients:
Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh, Bupleurum chinense root, Pinellia ternata rhizome, Scutellaria baicalensis root, Citrus aurantium fruit-immature, Paeonia lactiflora root, Ziziphus jujuba fruit, Rheum palmatum root.

Caution: Contraindicated during pregnancy and for patients taking interferon. Contains Rhubarb so beware of habitual use. After 2 weeks to 2 months one should rest from this formula for a few weeks before resuming. As always, check with your practitioner or herbalist before using formulas.
